HP has officially unveiled a new series of laptops in Indonesia, showcasing five models under the OmniBook brand. This launch marks a significant shift from the previous Spectre, Pavilion, and Envy names, with the focus now on AI-driven performance. The new lineup includes the OmniBook 3, OmniBook 5, OmniBook 7, OmniBook X, and OmniBook Ultra, all designed to enhance user productivity.
Collaborative Launch with Intel
The introduction of these laptops is a collaborative effort between HP Indonesia and Intel, integrating advanced AI and sensing technologies. These innovations are designed to optimize performance, extend battery life, and facilitate seamless multitasking across multiple screens. Edo Jonathan Chandra, the Consumer Personal System Category Manager at HP Indonesia, emphasized that AI has evolved beyond mere text or image generation, becoming a fundamental part of how devices operate daily.
Redefining Laptop Performance
During the launch event at the HP OmniBook Clubhouse in Jakarta, Edo highlighted the importance of productivity in today’s fast-paced world. He stated that evaluating a laptop should go beyond just RAM size or storage capacity. “It's not just about having a large memory; there’s more to consider,” he explained, indicating a shift in consumer expectations.
Overview of the OmniBook Models
The OmniBook Ultra is the flagship model, succeeding the premium Spectre line. With a thickness of about 1 cm and a weight of 1.2 kg, it features a vapor chamber cooling system and an Intel Core Ultra processor for high-performance tasks. Next in line is the OmniBook X, a convertible laptop that can function as a laptop, tablet, or presentation device. It boasts a touchscreen, Full HD camera, metal chassis, and AI sensing capabilities.
The OmniBook 7 targets users seeking a portable AI laptop, weighing in at 1.3 kg and powered by Intel Core Ultra processors. Edo described it as positioned between premium models and general computing laptops. The OmniBook 5 follows as the successor to the Pavilion series, featuring a flip design and a stylus that can be attached to the laptop’s body. Finally, the OmniBook 3 serves as an entry-level model, ideal for educational and light work, equipped with a full range of ports, a Full HD camera, and privacy features for users not requiring a slim design or touchscreen.
Advanced AI Features
One standout feature of the HP OmniBook series is Smart Sensing, which learns the user’s laptop usage patterns to determine when high performance is necessary and when power consumption can be minimized, thereby extending battery life. Edo explained, “Smart Sensing will analyze daily laptop usage to optimize power depending on the need, ensuring both performance and battery longevity.”
Additionally, HP has introduced presence detection and the Look to Move feature, which automatically shifts the cursor from the laptop screen to an external monitor when the user looks away. This enhances the workflow for users working with multiple screens, eliminating the need to manually locate the cursor.
Focus on User Experience
HP’s collaboration with Intel also focuses on optimizing productivity and creative applications, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Adobe software. Through the new OmniBook series, HP aims to shift consumer attention from mere specifications to a comprehensive laptop experience, with AI as a central element.
As of now, HP Indonesia has not disclosed pricing, configurations, or the availability schedule for each model.
