Jong Woon Kim, Deputy CEO of Erajaya Digital, emphasized that the company is prepared to follow all directives from Apple concerning the launch of the new iPhones in Indonesia. "We will adhere to Apple's instructions completely. Whatever Apple requires, we are ready to comply," Kim stated during the recent Erafone Shopping Festival event held in Jakarta.
Awaiting Apple's Launch Schedule
Despite Erajaya's readiness, Kim revealed that they have yet to receive comprehensive details from Apple regarding the launch timeline for the iPhone 18 Pro in Indonesia. When asked about the potential release date, Kim could not provide specifics, noting, "The launch schedule is entirely in Apple's hands. Typically, Apple does not disclose information in advance; after all, Apple is known for its perfection."
Midnight Launch Possibilities
The possibility of a midnight launch event for the new iPhones has also come into question. Kim mentioned that decisions regarding the event format have not yet been finalized. "We haven't confirmed any details for the event since there is still time. Everything remains tentative," he explained. When pressed about the likelihood of a midnight launch, he replied, "It could happen, or it might not." This indicates that while Erajaya is prepared on the retail front, they are still waiting for Apple's official decisions regarding the iPhone 18 Pro's release in Indonesia.
Certification and Market Readiness
As a reminder, the TKDN and Postel certifications are necessary steps for telecommunications devices before they can be sold legally in Indonesia. With the successful completion of these certifications, the path for the iPhone 18 Pro to enter the Indonesian market appears promising.
