Poco's Expanding X8 Family
This year has been significant for Poco, with the introduction of four smartphones in the X8 series. The lineup features the X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max, launched in March, followed by the standard X8 and the X8 Power in early September. Now, anticipation builds around a fifth model, the Poco X8s, which has recently achieved another certification, signaling its impending release.
Certification and Features
The Poco X8s, identified by the model number 2609CPC5FG, has received approval from Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). The certification indicates that the device will support 5G connectivity and will be equipped with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC capabilities. Although the listing doesn't provide extensive details, it confirms the device's brand association with Poco and its parent company, Xiaomi Electronics.
Global Availability and Variants
Reports suggest that the Poco X8s will be available in various markets, including Europe, Turkey, and Russia, but it will not launch in India. Interestingly, a variant of this model, designated M583CF, is expected to be sold under the Redmi brand in China. The model number hints that the X8s was developed in September 2026, suggesting that it is somewhat delayed compared to its predecessors.
Expected Specifications
Details on the hardware specifications of the Poco X8s remain limited, but some rumors have surfaced. One of the notable features is a 50MP main camera, which may offer multiple zoom options: 0.6x, 1x, and 2.5x. It is currently unclear whether the 2.5x zoom will be achieved through a dedicated telephoto lens or simply by cropping the main sensor's image. Performance-wise, the X8s is anticipated to be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, coupled with 12GB of RAM, and is expected to run on Android 16. If these specifications hold true, the X8s is likely to outperform the earlier X8 model, which features the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4.
While these details paint an exciting picture for the Poco X8s, it is important to note that nothing has been officially announced by Poco yet. Pricing and a definitive launch date remain to be revealed. However, with the increasing number of certifications, it seems that the official unveiling is just around the corner.
