Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Xiaomi 18 Fold in China, marking its entry into the foldable smartphone market with a wide-screen design. This latest device was first showcased at the IFA 2026 event last week and is now ready for consumers.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is equipped with a cover screen measuring 5.38 inches, boasting a resolution of 1712 x 1168 pixels. When opened, users are greeted with a stunning 7.58-inch main display that offers a resolution of 2364 x 1672 pixels. This main display features a 2:1 aspect ratio and is enhanced with an anti-reflective coating.
Both screens support a dynamic refresh rate ranging from 1 to 120Hz and can reach a peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits, ensuring vibrant visuals in various lighting conditions.
Advanced Technology and Performance
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 18 Fold is powered by the XRing O3 chipset, developed by Xiaomi itself. This chip is touted as the first flagship AI chip that achieves benchmark scores of over 5 million points on AnTuTu. It is complemented by up to 16GB of LPDDR6 RAM from Changxin Memory (CXMT) and offers internal storage options of up to 1TB.
Camera and Battery Capabilities
In terms of photography, the Xiaomi 18 Fold features a Leica-engineered camera system with three rear cameras. The setup includes a 200 MP main camera, a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50 MP ultrawide camera, making it a versatile choice for photography enthusiasts.
For power, the device houses a robust 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports quick charging at 67W and wireless charging at 50W, ensuring that users can stay powered throughout the day.
Durability and Design
The Xiaomi 18 Fold is designed for durability, featuring Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0 on both the cover screen and back panel, along with an IP58/IP59 rating for water and dust resistance. The device utilizes a Dragon Bone hinge mechanism and an aluminum alloy frame, having undergone 492 rounds of durability testing.
An exclusive Ceramic Special Edition of the Xiaomi 18 Fold is also available, featuring a silicon nitride ceramic panel that is lighter and stronger than the standard edition.
Availability and Pricing
Weighing in at 219 grams and measuring 10.68mm thick when folded, the Xiaomi 18 Fold comes in several color options, including Black, Warm Gold White, and Nishino Red. Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi 7, UWB, and an IR Blaster.
