HMD Arc 2 Launches with Enhanced Chipset and Features

HMD has officially introduced the Arc 2, the successor to its original HMD Arc smartphone. While the new model presents a fresh name and design, the upgrades might not be as significant as expected.

Overview of HMD Arc 2

The HMD Arc 2 continues to operate on Android 14 Go, similar to its predecessor. The device sports a 6.52-inch IPS LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 60Hz, which should offer decent visuals for everyday use.

Performance Enhancements

One of the key improvements in the Arc 2 is its upgraded chipset. The phone is powered by the Unisoc T603, a more efficient version of the original SC9863A. This new chip is built on a 12nm process and can reach clock speeds up to 1.8 GHz. Accompanying the T603 is 4GB of RAM, with options for 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. Users can also expand their storage further using the included SD card slot.

Camera Features

In terms of photography, the HMD Arc 2 features a single 13MP camera on the back for standard photography needs. For selfies and video calls, there's a 5MP front-facing camera nestled within a waterdrop notch, maintaining a sleek design.

Battery and Connectivity

The Arc 2 is equipped with a robust 5,000mAh battery, which supports 10W charging. This setup ensures that users can rely on their device throughout the day without frequent recharging. Additionally, the phone includes a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack, catering to users who prefer traditional audio connections.

Available in two color options, Dark Blue and Golden Beige, the HMD Arc 2 will hit the shelves in Thailand starting July 20, priced at THB 2,990, which is approximately $90 or €78.
