Historic Earnings in Content Creation
For the first time ever, the global content creation economy has surpassed the impressive milestone of one billion US dollars. The total earnings of the top 50 content creators from 2025 to early 2026 reached a staggering 1.02 billion dollars, equivalent to approximately Rp 18.36 trillion.
This remarkable figure comes from a recent report by Forbes, titled "Top Creators 2026," released in early July.
MrBeast Takes the Lead
At the top of the earnings list is none other than MrBeast, known as Jimmy Donaldson, who has solidified his position as the king of YouTube. From March 2025 to March 2026, MrBeast generated an incredible 300 million dollars, around Rp 5.4 trillion.
This amount is 4.6 times greater than the income of the second-ranked creator, Dhar Mann. Remarkably, MrBeast alone contributed nearly 30 percent of the total earnings of all 50 creators on the list.
Comparing Earnings to Corporate Giants
To put this figure into perspective, consider that MrBeast's earnings could cover the salary of Apple CEO Tim Cook for several years. Yet, this is the income of just one YouTuber over a single year.
MrBeast’s success extends beyond YouTube. He has built a vast business empire called Beast Industries, which encompasses viral entertainment, consumer products, Feastables food brand, and large-scale production.
The Power of Niche Content
Interestingly, the list includes a diverse range of creators. It features viral entertainment YouTubers like MrBeast and IShowSpeed, educational figures like Ms. Rachel, business podcasters such as Steven Bartlett, gamers like Markiplier and Jesser, and science communicators like Mark Rober.
Notably, the majority of the top earners are YouTubers, underscoring YouTube's status as the most lucrative platform for top-tier creators.
Another surprising aspect of the list is that subscriber count isn't everything. Codie Sanchez, who focuses on business and investment content, secured the sixth spot with earnings of 31 million dollars (approximately Rp 558 billion) despite having only 10 million followers, significantly fewer than many other creators around her rank. This highlights that niche content targeted at specific audiences can be much more profitable than mass entertainment, as niche audiences often have higher purchasing power and engage more deeply with the products endorsed by creators.
