Apple continues to surprise its fans after the recent launch of the iPhone 18 Pro Series and Duo in September. The tech giant from Cupertino has just announced a special event scheduled for October 13, 2026.
Event Details and Theme
The upcoming event, themed "Welcome Home," will take place in New York City. This choice of theme has sparked speculation that Apple is gearing up to unveil the next generation of smart home devices.
Teaser Video Released
In a brief video shared on the @helloapple Instagram account, Apple indicated that the event will commence at 9:00 AM New York time (around 8:00 PM WIB). The teaser features a unique concept that deviates from Apple's typical product announcements.
The 17-second video showcases a pair of hands stitching the Apple logo with rainbow-colored thread on fabric. The colors are meticulously arranged to recreate the classic Apple logo that the company used in its early days.
Speculations Surrounding New Products
The video concludes with the phrase "Welcome Home" and the date, October 13. The warm atmosphere, artisanal touch, and retro logo have further fueled speculation about the products Apple may introduce.
However, Apple has not revealed any new devices in the video, nor have they provided official hints about the categories of products set to launch.
Rumored Smart Home Hub
One of the most anticipated products is a smart home hub with a display. This device has long been rumored to serve as a control center for various smart home devices within the Apple ecosystem.
Unlike the HomePod, which relies solely on voice commands, the smart home hub is expected to feature a screen for displaying information and controlling household devices. Users might be able to manage smart lights, security cameras, room temperature, and other compatible devices through a single unit.
This new hub is also rumored to utilize AI-driven Siri capabilities to make interactions with home devices more intuitive and natural.
Other Potential Updates
In addition to the smart home hub, two other devices likely to see updates are the HomePod mini and Apple TV. The next generation of HomePod mini is anticipated to deliver enhanced performance and improved Siri functionalities. Meanwhile, the new Apple TV may feature a more powerful processor and broader AI integration.
It remains uncertain whether all three devices will be announced together. For now, Apple has only confirmed the date and theme of the event, leaving details about the products, pricing, and availability pending an official announcement on October 13.
