LG has officially launched its premium MRGB evo AI television line in Indonesia, offering a range of sizes and utilizing Mini RGB and Micro RGB panels. This launch marks LG's strategic move into the backlit LCD TV market, aiming to complement its long-standing dominance in OLED technology.
Expanding Market Presence
According to Jay Jang, the Marketing & Relation Director for LG Electronics Indonesia, the introduction of the MRGB series represents LG's ambition to enhance its leadership in the television market. "For 14 consecutive years, we have been the number one brand globally in the OLED category," Jang stated during the MRGB evo AI product unveiling at LG's R&D Center in Cibitung.
He emphasized that while the OLED category remains strong, LG is committed to expanding its portfolio with the innovative MRGB line, which is based on backlight technology.
Innovative Local Technology
One of the standout features of the new premium televisions is the technology developed by local talent at LG Research & Development Indonesia. The MRGB TVs incorporate small-sized LED lights that deliver vibrant and accurate colors. With over 2,000 local dimming zones, the televisions achieve precise control over each LED, closely mimicking the performance of OLED panels. This results in true black levels and bright highlights with enhanced contrast.
Flagship Model MRGB96
The flagship model, the MRGB96, boasts an impressive screen size of up to 100 inches and offers a 4K Ultra HD resolution of 3840 x 2160. This model covers 100% of the color spectrum in accordance with BT.2020, DCI-P3, and Adobe RGB standards. It also features a remarkable refresh rate of 165Hz, which can be boosted to 330Hz while gaming, thanks to the Motion Booster feature.
Advanced Features for a Premium Experience
The MRGB96 achieves a peak brightness of 4,000 nits and supports advanced technologies such as Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and AMD FreeSync, ensuring an immersive multimedia experience. The television is powered by a Dual AI Engine based on the AI α11 Gen3 processor, enhancing picture and sound quality through AI Picture Pro and AI Sound Pro functionalities, all while running on the latest WebOS26.
In terms of audio, the MRGB96 is equipped with 40W speakers arranged in a 2.2 channel configuration. Connectivity options are robust, featuring four HDMI 2.1 ports and two USB 2.0 ports. Wireless connections can be established via Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
Pricing for the LG Micro RGB MRGB96 starts at Rp 200 million. Additionally, LG offers a Mini RGB LCD variant, the MRGB86, available in sizes from 65 inches to 86 inches, with prices ranging from Rp 20 million to Rp 50 million.
