Samsung has made waves by launching the One UI 9 beta earlier this year, specifically in May. Currently, this testing phase has been exclusive to users of the Galaxy S26. However, there is positive news on the horizon as the list of compatible devices is poised to grow.
Expanding the Beta List
Recently, a new beta version has surfaced for select older Galaxy models, including the Galaxy S25, S24, and even some Galaxy A series devices. According to Gizchina, as of August 31, 2026, Samsung has yet to announce the next phase of the beta program. Nevertheless, numerous indicators suggest that more smartphones will soon be included.
Current Beta Progress
The Galaxy S26 has already experienced seven iterations of the One UI 9 beta. Simultaneously, the beta version has appeared on Samsung’s testing servers for over a dozen additional devices. Samsung has also launched a dedicated beta section within the Community Forum for models such as the Galaxy S25, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7. This typically indicates that the beta program is on the verge of expanding.
Potential Devices for One UI 9 Beta
It's essential to note that the following list of Samsung devices is speculative and not officially confirmed by Samsung. Therefore, it does not guarantee that all listed phones will participate in the public beta program. Interestingly, the number of Galaxy A models included in this list is noteworthy. Historically, Samsung tends to begin beta testing with higher-end models from the Galaxy S and Z series before transitioning to the more budget-friendly A series.
Features of One UI 9
One UI 9 is built on Android 17 and introduces various enhancements for Galaxy smartphones. Samsung has incorporated additional customization options, new security tools, and updates to several of its applications. A significant focus of this launch is artificial intelligence, although some advanced features may not be available across all Galaxy devices.
The stable version of One UI 9 has already been rolled out to the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8. Additionally, the Galaxy S26 series is expected to receive it shortly.
As of now, Samsung has not provided a timeline for when the broader beta version will commence. However, with the beta page now active in the Community Forum, owners of the Galaxy S25 and the latest Fold and Flip models might not have to wait much longer.
