Global Availability of Xiaomi 18 Pro Max
This appearance strengthens Xiaomi's plans to introduce the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max to international markets, moving beyond their traditional Chinese availability. Notably, Indonesia has emerged as a potential market for the 18 Pro Max, with indications of the device undergoing certification processes in the country.
Specifications Revealed on Geekbench
According to Geekbench, the global variant of the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is identified by the model number 2611FPNFAG. It features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, which matches the specifications of the version sold in China. The unit tested comes with 12GB of RAM, while the Chinese variant is also available with a hefty 16GB option. However, it remains unclear if the larger RAM variant will be available globally.
Features and Design of Xiaomi 18 Pro Max
Expected to run on Android 17 with HyperOS 4, the official launch date and pricing for the international market have yet to be announced. The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max boasts a stunning 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 1208 x 2624 pixels, supporting a refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of 4000 nits. A unique feature of this device is its secondary 2.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display on the back, offering a resolution of 596 x 976 pixels, also with a 120Hz refresh rate and 4000 nits peak brightness.
For photography enthusiasts, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max comes equipped with a remarkable 200MP main camera featuring optical image stabilization (OIS). Additionally, it includes a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS and 3.2x optical zoom, plus a 50MP ultrawide camera. The front-facing camera is no slouch either, featuring 50MP for selfies and video calls.
Battery and Storage Options
Storage options for the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max include 256GB, 512GB, and a whopping 1TB. The Chinese version is powered by a robust 8500mAh battery, while the 18 Pro variant has a 7000mAh battery. It is still uncertain whether these battery specifications will be maintained for the global market, especially in Europe, where configurations may differ.
With the potential for the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max to enter the Indonesian market, recent certifications from Indonesia's Ministry of Industry indicate that Xiaomi is preparing for a launch. Two devices, identified with model numbers 2611FPNFAG and 2609BPN61G, have received local certification, suggesting they are 5G smartphones with a local component use rating of 37.84%.
Interestingly, there was previous speculation linking the 2611FPNFAG model number to the standard Xiaomi 18, while the 2609BPN61G was suspected to be the 18 Pro Max. However, recent data from Geekbench identifies the 2611FPNFAG as the 18 Pro Max, necessitating further confirmation from Xiaomi regarding these model identities.
Although Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun stated that the Xiaomi 18 Pro Series would be available globally by 2026, no specific launch date for Indonesia has been disclosed yet. For context, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is priced starting at 6,999 yuan in China, which translates to approximately IDR 16 million. The official pricing in Indonesia may vary due to local taxes and market regulations.
