Apple enthusiasts in Indonesia can look forward to the arrival of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max soon. Recent leaks suggest that several new Apple devices will be available for purchase in Indonesia starting October 16, 2026.
This information was shared by Apple fan Bagus Hernawan. According to the leaks, the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, and AirPods 5 are expected to hit the Indonesian market on this date.
Recent Apple Event Highlights
The devices were recently unveiled during an Apple Event held in the early hours of September 10, 2026. Apple has previously confirmed that the iPhone 18 Pro Series, iPhone Duo, AirPods 5, Watch Series 12, and Watch Ultra 4 will indeed be available in Indonesia.
However, as of now, Apple has not officially announced the sales date for the iPhone 18 Pro and other devices in Indonesia. Therefore, the October 16 date should be treated as a rumor until there is confirmation from Apple or official distributors.
Regulatory Requirements for Launch
Before the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max can be sold in Indonesia, they must meet several regulatory requirements. This includes compliance with the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) and telecommunications certification from the Ministry of Communication and Digital, commonly referred to as Postel certification.
For mobile phones utilizing 4G or 5G technology, regulations require a minimum TKDN of 35%. Meeting the TKDN documentation is also a prerequisite for the telecommunications certification process.
Such certifications ensure that the devices comply with the technical telecommunications standards set in Indonesia. Thus, the appearance of TKDN certificates and telecommunications device certifications often indicates that a smartphone is nearing its official sales date in the country.
Comparison with Previous Launches
If the leak regarding the October 16 date is accurate, it aligns closely with the launch schedule of the previous generation. In 2025, Apple began pre-orders for the iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max in Indonesia on October 10, followed by the official sales starting on October 17, 2025, through authorized Apple resellers.
This means that if the iPhone 18 Pro Series is indeed available on October 16, 2026, Apple is maintaining a pattern of introducing its flagship devices in Indonesia approximately a month after their global unveiling.
Global Availability and iPhone Duo Details
Globally, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max were available for pre-order starting September 12, 2026, in over 65 countries and regions. The first sales began on September 18, 2026, followed by another wave in about 20 additional countries on September 25. Indonesia was not included in this initial launch phase.
Interestingly, the leak regarding the October 16 date does not mention the iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable phone introduced at the same event this year. Apple has set a different sales timeline for the iPhone Duo, with global pre-orders commencing on October 16, 2026, at 5:00 AM Pacific Time across more than 70 countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, the United States, the UK, and China.
The initial sales for the iPhone Duo in these countries will begin on October 23, 2026, with availability expanding to an additional 28 countries starting October 30, 2026. However, Indonesia is not listed among the first-wave countries for this device, leaving the local availability timeline uncertain.
If Bagus Hernawan's leak holds true, October 16 will be a significant day for Apple in Indonesia. On this date, the iPhone 18 Pro Series is anticipated to launch, coinciding with the global pre-order for the iPhone Duo.
