OnePlus has officially started rolling out the stable ColorOS 17 update for the OnePlus 15, marking a significant transition from its previous OxygenOS. This update is currently available exclusively in India, with the build number CPH2745_17.0.0.102(EX01).
Transition to ColorOS 17
Back in July, OnePlus announced that all eligible devices would transition to ColorOS alongside the Android 17 update. This rollout signifies the company's commitment to enhancing the user experience through improved software features and design.
New Features and Enhancements
The most notable change in ColorOS 17 is its fluid design, which incorporates responsive light effects and animations. This upgrade is powered by the innovative Luminous Rendering Engine, aimed at delivering a more dynamic visual experience. Users can also enjoy a revamped lock screen, Quick Settings, and notification drawer, enhancing usability.
Performance Improvements
OnePlus has integrated an upgraded Laminar Flow Engine within ColorOS 17. This enhancement is designed to minimize lag even under heavy memory loads, ensuring smoother multitasking and efficient background app management. This is especially beneficial for users who regularly run multiple applications simultaneously.
AI Features for Enhanced User Experience
Among the standout features of ColorOS 17 is the Mind Pilot's Agent mode, capable of autonomously organizing photos and files. Additionally, the new OSee AI vision feature offers document scanning capabilities, and a fresh Translate app has been introduced. Users will also appreciate the AI face swap detection for video calls and AI-generated voice detection aimed at identifying scam calls. Moreover, ColorOS 17 supports simultaneous audio output from multiple applications, providing a seamless audio experience.
While ColorOS 17 is currently available for OnePlus 15 users in India, the global rollout for other regions is set to begin on October 29. However, OnePlus has yet to announce specific dates for users outside India to receive the stable update.
