Apple Creator Studio Introduces AI Features in Major Update

Apple has announced a major update to its Creator Studio, a subscription-based suite of applications aimed at creative professionals. This update, described as the most significant since its launch in January, introduces a range of AI-powered features designed to enhance productivity and creativity.

Expanded Features in Final Cut Pro

The update includes substantial enhancements to Final Cut Pro, which now integrates MotionVFX. This addition provides users with thousands of templates, graphics, titles, and transitions, as well as advanced tools for rotoscoping, tracking, and color grading. The Content Hub has also been incorporated into Final Cut Pro, offering Apple-curated stock videos, photos, and backgrounds. Users can now seamlessly open images from their timeline in Pixelmator Pro, with changes automatically saved back to their project. Additionally, the update introduces text-to-image generation capabilities directly within the app, along with new keyframe easing options, improved clip management, and support for 23 new transcription languages.

Enhancements in Motion and Compressor

Motion users will benefit from new MotionVFX plug-ins that facilitate cinematic color grading, 3D camera tracking, and one-click selection. The update also includes text-to-image generation, round-trip editing in Pixelmator Pro, and a new Displacement filter. Furthermore, Compressor has been upgraded to encode Cinematic mode videos recorded on the latest iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo, enhancing the editing capabilities for mobile users.

Innovations in Logic Pro

Logic Pro has received a redesign with a striking Liquid Glass interface. A beta AI assistant is now available for Mac users, powered by both Apple-built and third-party models, which can assist in starting new music projects and refining existing ones. The redesigned Browser now consolidates loops, instruments, and effect patches, and features a Splice library for easy access. An innovative on-device music understanding feature automatically analyzes and tags sounds, while the Stem Splitter tool can isolate, replace, or rebalance drum tracks. Music professionals will also appreciate the new Producer Pack from Grammy-winning artist Sergio George and the Voice Memo Studio Sound feature that minimizes background noise in recordings.

AI Assistants in Keynote, Pages, and Numbers

The update extends to Apple's productivity apps, with Keynote, Pages, and Numbers each receiving an AI assistant that comprehends the context of documents. This AI can help design and animate presentations in Keynote, restructure text in Pages, and recommend chart types and organize data in Numbers. Moreover, the new Model Context Protocol (MCP) support enables external AI agents to interact with content, making edits and executing automated actions across all three applications. Users can also access new templates, stock video content, and enhanced features, including editable shapes generated from text descriptions in Freeform.

The updates to the Creator Studio will be available in the App Store beginning November and will be free for existing subscribers. However, the AI assistants are currently limited to US English and require devices compatible with Apple Intelligence. Logic Pro’s AI features necessitate macOS 27 Golden Gate, while Keynote, Pages, and Numbers require the latest versions of iOS, iPadOS, or macOS. New subscribers can access the suite for $12.99 per month or $129 annually, with discounts available for students and educators, and those purchasing new Apple devices can enjoy a complimentary three-month trial.
