Xreal has officially opened pre-orders for its much-anticipated Aura Android XR glasses, which were first introduced back in June. Initially available for those who reserved their pairs, the pre-order option is currently accessible to customers in the US, Canada, Japan, and South Korea, with plans to expand to additional regions shortly.
Pricing and Variants
The Aura glasses come in two configurations, catering to different user needs. The first model is priced at $1,279, featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. For those seeking more power, a second model is available at $1,499, boasting 16GB of RAM and a generous 512GB of storage. This flexibility allows users to choose a version that best fits their usage patterns.
Innovative Display Technology
Xreal's Aura glasses incorporate cutting-edge Optical See-Through (OST) technology, offering a 70-degree field of view. This is made possible through dual Sony Micro-OLED panels that deliver a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels alongside a refresh rate of 120Hz. The transparent displays allow users to interact with their environment while still being able to engage with digital content seamlessly.
Smart Features and Functionality
Running on Android XR, the Aura glasses come equipped with Google's Gemini, enhancing their functionality for various applications. Users can also benefit from features like electrochromic dimming, which allows the display to adapt based on user preference, helping to minimize distractions from the surrounding environment. Weighing less than 95 grams, these glasses are designed for comfort and extended wear.
Battery and Performance
The Aura glasses utilize a puck that houses a robust 4,455 mAh battery, ensuring that users can enjoy extended usage without frequent recharging. Additionally, the integrated trackpad and fingerprint sensor provide convenient controls for navigating through the interface. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Reality Elite chip, the glasses promise a smooth and responsive experience for all users.
As Xreal continues to expand its offerings, the Aura Android XR glasses represent a significant step forward in wearable technology, merging real-world interaction with digital capabilities.
