According to the latest sales data, the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core i7-14700K have landed at the 6th and 9th positions, respectively. These mid-range processors are priced at approximately USD 255 (around Rp 4 million) and USD 312 (around Rp 5 million). While Intel's resurgence is noteworthy, the majority of the best-selling CPUs still belong to AMD's Ryzen 9000, 7000, and 5000 series.
AMD Continues to Lead
At the top of the rankings is the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, with the Ryzen 5 5500 following closely as a popular choice for budget-conscious PC builders, securing the second spot. The third to fifth positions are occupied by AMD's premium processors: Ryzen 5 9600X, Ryzen 7 5800X3D, and Ryzen 7 7800X3D. Meanwhile, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 5 7600X take the 7th and 8th spots, with the Ryzen 5 5600X rounding out the top 10.
Intel's Market Share Improvement
Expanding the view to the top 20, AMD still dominates with eight entries compared to Intel's two. Despite this, Intel's 20% representation in this elite list marks a significant improvement for a company striving to regain its former glory. It's worth noting that AMD has kept Intel off the bestseller list since November 2024, following the launch of Intel's Arrow Lake "Core Ultra 200" series, which failed to meet market expectations.
Factors Influencing Sales
Interestingly, the recent rise of Intel's chips in the top 10 this month isn't solely due to their raw performance. A major factor is the skyrocketing prices of DDR5 RAM, which have led many consumers to consider upgrading their existing DDR4 systems instead of investing heavily in a completely new platform. This market dynamic has significantly benefited Intel, as processors like the Core i9-14900K and Core i7-14700K still support DDR4 memory. In contrast, AMD's latest powerful processors, such as the 9850X3D, 9950X, and 9900X, have seen a drop in ranking due to their requirement for exclusive DDR5 RAM.
