RedMagic 12 Pro+ Features Groundbreaking Display and Cooling System

The highly anticipated RedMagic 12 Pro+ has officially launched in China, showcasing impressive specifications and features designed for gamers. Touted as the industry’s first smartphone with a 185Hz under-display ‘true full-screen’ panel, this device aims to elevate mobile gaming experiences.

Powerful Performance

At the heart of the RedMagic 12 Pro+ lies the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, complemented by the proprietary RedCore R5 gaming chip. Users can opt for configurations with up to 16GB of LPDDR5T RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 Pro storage, ensuring ample power and space for demanding applications and games. The device is equipped with an impressive 8,400 mAh battery that supports rapid charging options, including 120W wired and 80W wireless charging, along with reverse wired charging at 22.5W.

Stunning Display and Camera

The smartphone features a striking 6.85-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1216x2688 pixels. In high brightness mode, it can reach up to 1,900 nits and peaks at an astonishing 5,000 nits. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, which enhances durability. For photography enthusiasts, the RedMagic 12 Pro+ includes a 50MP main camera capable of 8K video recording and an additional 50MP ultrawide lens. The front houses a ninth-generation 16MP under-display selfie camera developed in collaboration with BOE.

Advanced Cooling Technology

One of the standout features of the RedMagic 12 Pro+ is its innovative RGB liquid cooling system. This advanced cooling mechanism employs a dual-loop design to efficiently manage heat around the CPU and battery. The micro-pump used in this system is 85% more effective than that of its predecessor, the RedMagic 11 Pro+, while consuming just 20mW of power. The cooling setup also includes a fan capable of spinning at 25,500 RPM and utilizes high-tech materials like graphene and liquid metal, creating a robust “five-layer” thermal management system.

Gaming-Focused Features

The RedCore R5 chip not only enhances gaming performance but also supports ray tracing, 2K upscaling, and frame interpolation up to 185Hz in compatible games. Additionally, the upgraded PC Emulator allows users to access their Steam library directly from the device, although compatibility can vary by game. The phone also incorporates dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a range of connectivity options including Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0.

The RedMagic 12 Pro+ is available in multiple color variants, including Nightfreeze, Subzero, and Skyfrost, with the latter expected to launch later this year. Pricing starts at CNY 6,999 (approximately $980) for the 12GB/256GB model, going up to CNY 8,999 ($1,260) for the 16GB/1TB version. A special edition featuring forged carbon and 24GB of RAM will also be announced in the future.

Internationally, the device will be marketed as the RedMagic 12 Pro, with global specifications and pricing set to be revealed on November 3.
